- how does a garden hose use more water than a pressure washer or vice-versa?

I have a electric powerwasher. Is it possible to feed it water from a tank such as a 5 gal bucket? I won’t need a lot of water. Just a blast or two. How can i fit something on the bottom of the bucket so it accepts a garden hose? Are there any adapters out there? If not, would drilling a hole on the bottom and sticking a hose up in and sealing the edge with waterproof caulking or something work? If the bucket is held higher than the pressure washer, will gravity be enough to feed it?
If i buy an adapter that will screw into the bucket, what kind of adapter for a garden hose? And how will it not leak without some sort of caulking?

at US base in Spain (220v)…can one use a power transformer (220-110) on a power washer? I realize some electric items do not do well with transformers….are high pressure power washers (water) one of them??

I want to get a pressure washer to use in cleaning the front porch, driveway, and siding of my home, but my house has low water pressure. Would a pressure washer still work in this situation? I guess I don’t know how a pressure washer works – I assume it’s hooked up to a hose on the house??? Thanks.

I work on pressure washers and after being asked this question the best answer I could give was "because they do". I disected an old one and understand that the pressure moves the sliding device in side the body but I don’t understand what triggers the external sensor on the outside of the switch body…..the sensor has three wires, one ground that is used optionally, and the two active wires, they appear to be in a glass tube, no obvious magnets could be found….answers would be appreciated!!

ok here is the situation, I have two 3000PSI pressure washer pumps, and a gas engine, If I took both and connected them to the motor, supplied enough water flow and used a coupler to join the output on both, will I get 6000psi of water pressure or will I end up creating back pressure and possibly damaging the pums, or will I get killed in the process.

I hope someone with an engeniering degree reads this, maybe I can get a valid answer. oh and forgive me for my spelling disaster here….he he he

I have to go cheap on this so it looks like i’m going to be getting an a electric one. I saw a Black and Decker one that said 1600psi but a review said it normally is about 1250psi and not too good at removing paint. I have seen several Karthers at advertised 1400psi without that review. I also saw a 1500psi but forgot the brand name of it.
